Silk Aquatint at Castle Hill August 2-5, 2021

Create beautiful and tonal prints with this painterly printmaking method of making a plate. Learn to construct inexpensive plates of various sizes from plastic and monofilament mesh painted with black acrylic. Work your way back to white by layering polymer gels with brushes and textures. The plate will mirror and resemble your final image. Intaglio printing with non-toxic inks on rag papers yields dense, mezzotint-like surfaces which explore gesture, texture, and tonal effects. A wonderful print experience for all artists. An in person class at Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill.
